Southeastern Ohio has been plagued by the effects of fracking injection wells for years. Now, land from Ohio's only national forest is being taken for fracking. Louis Lacey found his calling to work at HELP of Southern Nevada after spending time on the streets himself. During the summer months with dangerous heat and rain, he joins others on his HELP team in warning the homeless when rain is coming and in providing hygiene kits, water and services.
Ohio University is home to many fine arts programs including music, dance, applied art, theater and film. Fine arts was ranked economically as the third-worst major, according to a 2012 Forbes article. Film, video and photography majors were ranked second. But students expressed a passion and drive for the arts nonetheless, refusing to be brought down by skeptics and critics.

Junkyard Resurrection is a mom and son business that takes broken down or discarded pieces of furniture and makes them not only functional again, but pieces of art with decorative painting or creative twists.
Kirsten Pribula, a junior studying graphic design, lost her hearing between the ages of 3 and 4 due to autoimmune inner ear disease. She uses cochlear implants, which help partially, but Pribula relies heavily on lip reading and interpreters. Pribula talks about her experiences of being deaf.
