I'm Patrick Connolly, a recent graduate of Ohio University's School of Visual Communication.
I'm originally from the city of Pittsburgh, PA. I'm currently interning for the Las Vegas Review-Journal. I previously interned with the Tribune-Review in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. I also served as the senior multimedia producer at Ohio's student-run newspaper, The Post. Before that, I was a photo editor and staff photographer.
Ultimately, what photojournalism has taught me is that the camera can be an invaluable tool for getting into others’ lives and experiencing the world with a sense of curiosity. Photos and video are unlike many other mediums in that they transcend time and place and language barriers. For me, every day feels like a new adventure in going out, meeting new people, and learning something new. And not just learning for myself, but getting to share those things and perspectives with others. I can't think of anything that would be more rewarding.
In my free time, I enjoy playing the trumpet or piano, taking bike rides and spending time in the great outdoors.
